This policy explains what the Video Grabber browser extension for Chrome, Edge and Firefox ("Video Grabber", "we", "us") does with your information. In short: we don't collect your browsing data, and videos are processed on your own computer.
What stays on your computer
- Detected videos. To find videos, the extension looks at the addresses and file types of media your browser loads. This list is kept in your browser only for the open tab and is cleared when you leave the page or close the tab. It is never sent to us.
- Downloads and processing. Videos are downloaded directly from the website to your computer. Combining audio and video happens locally inside the extension. No video is uploaded to us or anyone else.
- Settings and usage count. Your settings (such as blocked sites) are stored in your browser's extension storage and may sync across your own browser profile if you use browser sync. The number of free downloads you've used is stored locally.
Payments
If you upgrade to Pro, payment is handled by ExtensionPay and Stripe. They collect your email address and payment details to process the purchase and to let you restore Pro on other computers. We never see or store your full card number. We may see your email address, purchase date and plan so we can provide support and refunds.
What we don't do
- We don't collect or store your browsing history.
- We don't use analytics, trackers or ads.
- We don't sell or share your data with anyone, except the payment providers above when you choose to pay.
Network connections
The extension connects to the websites hosting the videos you choose to save, and to extensionpay.com to check whether you have Pro. Nothing else.
Permissions
- Read media requests on all sites (webRequest, all URLs) — to notice videos on whatever page you're on.
- Downloads — to save videos to your computer.
- Storage — to remember settings and your free download count.
- Tabs — to show videos for the current tab and name files after the page title.
Children
Video Grabber is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Your choices
You can clear the extension's data at any time by removing it from your browser. To ask about or delete payment-related information, email us.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date above and post the new version on this page.
